The APP4MC project provides a tool chain environment and de-facto standard to integrate tools for all major design steps in the multi- and many-core development phase. A basic set of tools will be available to demonstrate all the steps needed in the development process. Companies and R&D partners will benefit from the de-facto standard for tool chains and the support given by the features of the extended APP4MC tool chain platform. The platform can be easily adapted with commercial or in-house tools.
4DIAC in its current form has been started 2007 as open source project fostering the further development of IEC 61499 for its use in distributed IPMCS and further distribute research results from the original contributors. From the beginning it provided everything necessary to program and execute distributed IPMCS.
Die beiden für die Kommunikation im Industrial Internet of Things gedachten Standards OPC UA (OPC Unified Architecture) und DDS (Data Distribution Service) sollen interoperabel werden. Für die nötigen Spezifikationen sorgen derzeit die Organisationen OPC Foundation und Object Management Group (OMG).
Für die deutsche Plattform Industrie 4.0 ist OPC UA als Kommunikationsstandard gesetzt. Das Industrial Internet Consortium hingegen favorisiert die aus der IT kommende Networking Middleware DDS (Data Distribution Service) für diese Aufgabe.
