Taking place concurrent to the festival, IndieCade's annual conference brings together some of the boldest and most interesting minds relevant to the independent game community. For the first time IndieCade is bringing videos of key talks from the conference.
Well-designed gameplay shares characteristics with effective learning experiences. Through analysis of commercial computer games I established that a successful game is a series of goal related skills increasing in difficultly until attainment of the overall goal is achieved. Kiili (2005) offers support for this when talking about online games satisfying the basic requirements of learning environments
which provide engaging learning experiences for students
